GLA Hearing

The GLA hearing to decide whether AELTC’s planning application to build over Wimbledon Park, Grade II* Heritage, Metropolitan Open Land, should be accepted or refused, will be held at City Hall on Friday 27th September. (10:00 start, doors open 8:30am).

Representatives of the Save Wimbledon Park campaign met with Fleur Anderson MP and GLA representative Leonie Cooper. They were unanimous: the Save Wimbledon Park Campaign needs a big show of public support at City Hall and have asked us to pass on this message:

“Please join the demonstration for the GLA Hearing! Everyone is very welcome.

The address is City Hall, The Chamber, Kamal Chunchie Way, London E16 1ZE.. Here is how to get to City Hall.

The Hearing starts at 10.00, but doors open at 08.30 and there are only 140 seats (we are negotiating for additional space). There will also be strict airport style security, so we recommend getting there as early as you can. Whether you plan to attend the hearing or not, please join the demonstration outside from around 8:30-9am.

Wear your Save Wimbledon Park T-shirts and bring your banners, although they might have to be left outside. A good media turnout is anticipated.

Tell your friends, bring your relatives, pass the word to your networks – we need to fill the public gallery and make a noise on the green outside.”
